FAQ's
What are cosmetic injectables and how do they work?
Cosmetic injectables are minimally invasive treatments that involve the injection of substances into the skin to enhance facial contours, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and restore volume. These treatments work by temporarily relaxing muscles or adding volume to specific areas, resulting in a smoother and more youthful appearance.
Are cosmetic injectables safe?
When administered by a qualified professional, cosmetic injectables are generally considered safe. Clinical studies indicate that adverse effects are minimal, with most patients experiencing only temporary side effects such as swelling or bruising at the injection site. It is essential to consult with a licensed practitioner to discuss any potential risks.
How long do the effects of cosmetic injectables last?
The duration of effects from cosmetic injectables can vary based on the type of treatment and individual factors. Typically, results can last anywhere from three to four months for the reduction of wrinkles and up to twelve months for volume enhancement. Factors such as metabolism, lifestyle, and the specific area treated can influence how long the results remain visible.
What should I expect during a cosmetic injectable treatment?
During a cosmetic injectable treatment, the practitioner will first assess your facial structure and discuss your aesthetic goals. The procedure usually involves minimal discomfort and some products contain a local anaesthetic. The treatment itself typically takes 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the areas being addressed.
Are there any side effects associated with cosmetic injectables?
Common side effects of cosmetic injectables include temporary swelling, redness, and bruising at the injection site. These effects generally resolve within a few days. In rare cases, more serious side effects may occur, which is why it is crucial to choose a qualified and experienced practitioner. All treatments, risks and side effects will be explained in a comprehensive consultation relevant to your suitable treatment.
Can I combine cosmetic injectables with other treatments?
Yes, many patients choose to combine cosmetic injectables with other aesthetic treatments, such as skincare regimens or laser therapies, to achieve optimal results. It is advisable to consult with your practitioner to develop a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. We generally recommend a two week time frame between your appointments.
How do I prepare for a cosmetic injectable treatment?
Preparation for a cosmetic injectable treatment typically involves avoiding blood-thinning medications, alcohol, and certain supplements such as fish oil for a few days prior to the procedure. It is best to not make any plans for that evening including the gym, sauna or working out. Your practitioner will provide specific instructions tailored to your treatment plan to ensure the best possible outcome.
What is the cost of cosmetic injectable treatments?
Due to recent changes in TGA regulations we are unable to advertise costs associated with any treatments. For this reason we offer complimentary consultations where we can also give you pricing, with no obligation to go ahead with a treatment.
The cost of cosmetic injectable treatments can vary widely based on factors such as the type of injectable used, the area being treated, and the practitioner's expertise. On average, patients can expect to invest in a range that reflects the quality and safety of the treatment provided.
